Oh. My. God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I wish\u2014I so desperately wish\u2014people, especially <\/em>teenage, indie authors would speak out more on the struggles of being just that: an indie, teenage writer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Indie as is makes things just a tad harder for writers to put their art out into the world and actually get eyes and readers. Especially when you don\u2019t have a lot of money to buy editors, designers, marketers, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But to be a teenager mixed into the indie as well as not have a lot of money to spend, <\/em>it feels near impossible to get anywhere with my art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The goal, obviously, is to get readers. I don\u2019t really mind the money gain of things, more so just getting people to read my stories and relate, and be able to tell me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Stories are fun, and especially fun when you can talk about them with other people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m doing. I don\u2019t know just how well my progress with marketing is working (though, I can guess that it\u2019s not very successful).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Either no one cares enough, or I\u2019m doing a trash job at putting my work out there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Is it not appealing enough? Is the fact that I\u2019m not an adult stopping others from wanting to read my book?<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are truly so many questions, and it\u2019s hard trying to push back the negative thoughts telling me to quit, to stop everything and let the professionals handle this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But at the same time, I like creating worlds and characters and stories, even if in the end it gets hard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Just know that it isn\u2019t easy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It isn\u2019t always sunshine and rainbows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In fact, it\u2019s hard, it\u2019s draining, it sucks the energy out of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I hope in the future I can get readers, even if it\u2019s just a couple.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Oh.
